BACK ON TRACK - Weight control programmes at Klinika San Ġużepp

A Family doctor will be hosting group sessions for persons willing to try to get back their healthy lifestyle in terms of exercise and eating habits.

He will assess each person individually and offer personal advice before the group sessions begin and a series of 12 group discussions are held once a week after 7pm at Klinika San Ġużepp.

Healthy Living Seminar

'Eat well, feel good, look great' is the slogan chosen for the Healthy Living seminar being hosted by Prime Ltd on Friday 30th September at the Oratory in Naxxar. This is the third such activity organised by James Muscat in a period of ten months. The last seminar, held in April and titled 'Healthy Eating', was attended by over two hundred participants from different walks of life.

A good number of speakers including health professionals, nutritionists and specialists from the culinary sector will address the audience at this event which is expected to attract a turnout of over 300. Representatives from selected philanthropic associations including the Action for Breast Cancer Foundation, the Transplant Support Group and the National Blood Transfusion Service will also be participating.

Topics to be dealt with during this seminar include major health issues related to obesity, diabetes, ageing, weight control and the importance of a well balanced diet. One of the speakers, Dr Peter Muscat, will focus on eating disorders while his brother James will share his experience as a living kidney donor and will highlight the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.

Participants will be offered a number of vouchers and will also have the opportunity to win prizes courtesy of Prime Meat Shops and GS superstore while Klinika San Guzepp will offer free blood glucose monitoring. Other sponsors include Provita, Heaven Beauty Clinic & Day Spa and Vascas.

Allergies tests offered at Klinika San Ġużepp

We are pleased to announce that Klinika San Ġużepp can now offer Food Intolerance Tests as well as Tests for Airborne Allergies. Results are given at the end of the session, which takes approximately one hour. Tests are booked on appointment (mornings and afternoons). More information coming soon on the website.

Puttinu Cares at Klinika San Guzepp

We are now pleased to officially welcome Puttinu Cares within our clinics.

The Puttinu Cares Cancer Support Group was set up in 2002 by Dr. Victor Calvagna and Mr. Rennie Zerafa. The first project of the group was to bring to life the dull children's ward in the old St. Luke's Hospital, with the help of volunteers and sponsors the ward... was brightened up with vivacious colours and fun pictures for the children. We all know that this was not the first and last project from the group, and to date various projects have seen the light of day since then.

While we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people involved in Puttinu Cares, for the great support they are providing, we hope that our clinics can continue to offer the right environment for the workers, helpers and the families visiting our clinics alike.

Possible new opening hours

Due to public demand, we are considering extending our opening hours for the afternoon sessions on Mondays and Thursdays. The new opening hours shall be between 15:00 and 19:00. Morning opening hours are to remain the same. We thank you for your support.
